â©the Niagara Region. We provide a well-rounded program of exhibitions, art classes and variousâ©
â©other art activities. We show and collect primarily work by Canadian artists and have a specialâ©
â©interest in the Book Arts, print-making and works on paper.â©

â©Reporting to the Education and Media Coordinator, the Outreach and Media Assistant isâ©
â©responsible for developing curriculum and resource materials for a number of scheduledâ©
â©exhibitions and activities and assisting with classroom preparations for the summer children'sâ©
â©programs at the gallery. He/she will develop program activities related to the gallery's outreachâ©
â©programs and will prepare and outreach exhibitions for delivery to schools in September. Theâ©
â©student will prepare media and public relations materials to promote programs and activities toâ©
â©the community, both during the summer and in advance of the fall/winter schedule.â©

â©As a candidate for this position, you are currently enrolled in a degree or diploma specializing inâ©
â©fine arts, education, museum studies, or art history. You have experience working with variousâ©
â©forms of media (print/online), a variety of art media and techniques, and effectively leading groupsâ©
â©of children. You are a well-organized individual with proven project management skills, a confidentâ©
â©speaker, and have the ability to work independently to meet project outcomes.â©

1. Programming (50%)
â©

1.1 Develops projects and activities for summer children's programs at GPAG and inâ©
â©partnership with Recreation Services camps, based on themes and guidelines,â©
â©including all necessary safety protocols, provided by Education Coordinator.â©
â©Delivers programming via zoom, outdoors and/or in-studio as scheduled andâ©
â©appropriate.â©
1.2 Inventories supplies and materials available in studio, assesses needs forâ©
â©summer programming and requests orders, restocks in consultation withâ©
â©Education Coordinator at the end of the summer.â©
1.3 Develops and assembles resource materials for planned activities, includingâ©
â©materials kits and instructions for curbside pick-up prior to zoom programs; toolâ©
â©kits and handouts for in-person programs; and documentation with teachingâ©
â©instructions and templates following programâ©
1.4 Prepares video and online presentations, developing script, rehearsing andâ©
â©recording as necessaryâ©
1.5 Develops programs and activities related to fall exhibitions and for recreationalâ©
â©and school programs for children incorporating curriculum links and practicalâ©
â©knowledge gained from teaching experience.â©
1.6 Works with Curatorial Assistant and regular GPAG staff to ensure that Art in theâ©
â©Schools program is ready to return to schools in Septemberâ©
1.7 Answers questions from the public related to planned programming includingâ©
â©content, safety protocols, registration issues etc

â©2. Media and public relations (25%)

â©2.1 Designs promotional materials appropriate for both print and virtual media toâ©
market summer and fall/winter programs and activitiesâ©
â©2.2 Develops an on-line marketing strategy to reach under-represented communityâ©
areas with information about GPAG programs and activitiesâ©
â©2.3 Develops and administers end of program surveys for all programs and activities.â©
